The second World Food Safety Day (WFSD) is going to be celebrated on 7June 2020 to draw attention and encourage action to assist stop, find and manage foodborne risks, contributory to food security, human health, economic prosperity, agriculture, market access, tourism, and property development.
Following the success of the primary celebration in 2019, this year once more WFSD reinforces the decision to strengthen the commitment to rescale food safety created by the Addis Ababa Conference and therefore the Geneva Forum in 2019 underneath the umbrella of “The way forward for Food Safety”. WHO, together with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the international organization (FAO) is happy to facilitate Member States’ efforts to celebrate the planet Food Safety Day.
Under the theme “Food safety, everyone’s business”, the action-oriented campaign can promote world food safety awareness and decisions upon countries and decision-makers, the personal sector, civil society, United Nations organizations, and therefore the general public to require action.
Food safety could be a shared responsibility between governments, producers, and shoppers. everyone includes a role to play from farm to table to make sure the food we have a tendency to consume is safe and can not cause damages to our health. Through the planet Food Safety Day, WHO pursues its efforts to thought food safety within the public agenda and scale back the burden of foodborne diseases globally.
